The Korean Consumers Union tests 15 categories of denim clothing produced by 12 brands operating in South Korea. The tests include acidity, elasticity and the presence of harmful substances. The results also show that six types of products contain nonylphenol ethoxylates. However, the Korean Consumers Union determined that the nonylphenol ethoxylates content of those products meet the safety standards set by South Korea and the euro zone. Some experts believe that nonylphenol polyoxyethylene ether may disrupt the endocrine system.
